Infernal Symphony ups the ante yet again with a resounding answer to the question - 'Does this band every stop producing pure gold?'

The answer is: No!

Reverie Of Damnation is a brand-new collection of progressive doom metal tunes which provides a different spin on the themes of our recent material. With 5 new releases under our belt since our renaissance of better production and a renewed focus on black metal, starting with 2021's 'Columns of Deformity', this unholiest of dirges is a sidestep into the unknown once again.

Embracing such new colours in our sonic palette as noise rock, post-rock, acoustic guitars, live-recorded keyboards and guitar, as well as a softer and more spacey vibe, in places, and a vein of viciousness a few notches higher than that of our last few releases, 'Reverie Of Damnation' proves that you can take the lo-fi out of Infernal Symphony, but you can't take Infernal Symphony out of a stunning string of quality and consistently great releases very easily.

8 mind-opening tracks convalesce into a work which is as refreshing as it is interesting. A razor sharp production job brings out everything in a career-best performance by Demonic Bishop as each new track on this 45 minute album further convinces you of our... brilliance and wows you with our most all-encompassing package yet.

The album centres on a few closely-tied-together themes, including manipulation of the mind, the burning reaches of hell, and mythological and historical recounts. Listen closely, and you will find a common lyrical thread running through each of these tracks in order - explaining the story of a homosexual knight seized by the clutches of mental illness and abused, or some would say 'cured', by the woeful medical practices of the time coupled with the ignorance and lack of compassion from the Church, perhaps best captured by the title track.

As the tastefully mysterious cover art implies, this album takes us slightly closer to our original subject matter of religious destruction, lost mysteries unravelled and the onward march of ignorance due to ancient lies. Is humanity inevitably doomed? Well, if the sound of this new album is to believed, it may be closer than you think...more
