Seeing as 'Evil Spirits' is Infernal Symphony's 30th Album release, marking 6 years of constant releases and a full evolution of the band's recognisable and unique sound, we bring you this EP as a companion piece to the full album - to give you a devilish taste of what's to come from the album proper...

Given the demonic nature of the album, it's esoteric subject matter and the central concept of 3s which is essential to the record's core and themes... We decided it was only fitting to celebrate by making it a 3-part staggered release, to truly immerse you in the rich and layered magnitude of such Satanic soundscape.

'The Lesser Key Of Solomon' is a trilogy of connected musical pieces which form the middle third of the full album, but also work as a solitary short-form release as well. These three tracks are distinctly linked by a common thread of Thelma, demonology and occult ritual, as seen with the title track elaborating on the ancient Magick art of Alistair Crowley's fabled Satanic Rites documented in the occult grimoire of the same name.

The actual book of Goetia (otherwise known as the eponymous Lesser Key Of Solomon) predates Crowley's writings, and was... published anonymously, however it goes into great detail as to the means with which one can evoke evil spirits. Fitting, no?

The first song explicitly references the book of Goetia, whereas track 2, 'Nefarious Delirious' details the story of the Severed heads on the original album cover.

This image is derived from a painting by Goya, (known for his depictions of dead bodies and severed body parts) and how the victims were assumed to have been possessed by the demon Abbadon, despite conjecture that they in fact merely were victims of mental illness. It appears we will never know the true answer to that story now.

Lastly, the final track of this EP expresses the hypocrisy of sin and ultimately how hollow the concept itself is as a doctrine of morality. In the Bible, Genesis teaches that the Original Sin was that of Adam and Eve eating the forbidden fruit which granted them knowledge of good and evil - apparently knowing right from wrong was an unforgivable mistake!

Conversely, we suggest that perhaps believing in this pack of lies to begin with is the true cardinal sin, as it leads to one wasting the only life we are guaranteed to have, and warns against spending your numbered days preparing for an afterlife which may not even exist....
