From the artist's bandcamp:

"There is a tree, and there is a city build around it and into it. Surrounding the city, a wall of massive rocks, made stronger in their presence by the fact that they sometimes are not there, flickering out of this plane and leaving behind craters, and exposing the outer boundaries of the city to the great plainswinds. To the west, mountains - but stay above ground! Treasures may lurk beneath, but few possess the fortitude to survive an encounter with the spiders. And above, a wide clear expanse of sky, sometimes clogged with airborne spores released from the tree. They aren't fatal to come in contact with, but gods help your judgement should you breathe in too many. We keep our masks close by.

Sometimes, there is a sporestorm, and even if every crack is sealed and every face is masked, we still lose hours, whole days, to a dreary half-remembered consciousness. Sometimes we wake up sore or wounded, other times we wake up wiser. Sometimes, we lose friends and fellows to the stresses of sporesickness. This is life under the Mystal Tree, and it is ours.
