Additional Details
As piano was the first instrument I learned how to play, I felt like an album where I showed off my piano skills was in order. "Masochistic Mysticism" is an album that channels, hones, and transmutates the ghoulishly evocative sound of the piano to its full potential. This album sees me going down darker territory, both in themes and in music. Theme wise, I thought that I would put the "dungeon" in "dungeon synth" so to speak. Here we have songs about whipping, being restrained, pleasurable ascetic acts of self-mummification, mourning with swords and being imprisoned in the subbasement of a torture chamber. Music wise? It's all over the place. There's some horror synth, some visual novel/anime-type music, some neoclassical darkwave, some funeral doomy type stuff as well as a cybergrind track for some reason.

The artwork is of Siri Sangabo, a pious Buddhist Sri Lankan king who had a rebellion staged against him, so he became a wandering forest monk. Eventually, the prime minister asked for his head. When a peasant came by him and gave him some food, Siri Sangabo had nothing to give him, so he decapitated himself and gave his head to the peasant.
