I no longer mark the passage of time; no longer entertain pointless notions of promise for a new day. My room has become my prison. My only company: the rats scratching at the walls, a faint dripping of water somewhere nearby, and this old, musty organ. As I manipulate it's weathered frame to bend notes in the stagnant air, I am reminded that this sole activity is the only release I have. The only power I hold in this world, a world long left behind...my only purpose. Who will hear my cry?
