Too many years ago to tell

Claws cut the land and made the lakes

From fire plains the forests grew

And melting peaks bled riverveins

And all the while in hearts of men

The rains that roar bred only hate

For wind brought corpses when it howled

And hid in halls we could not breach.

Sing a song of black blades

From burning throats on mountains high

Sing a song of sorrow

For the ones that will not last the night.

For every mortal heart desires

To fall in valor in the sight

Of old cruel gods that still believe

That man deserves to wander on

Through ages long of toil and war

Where king is night and never dawn

Should ring bright for tired eyes.

They melt the spears with... blinding light

And while we watch our hearts expire

What else is there to do but fight?

A man of the sword

I have never been

I could only watch

As the sky caved in

And the horses charged

Towards the sun and then

Engulfed in flame

They ran no more.

When the wings come out

Like the stars at night

And the fire from the East hits the mountainside

Will you walk with me

Through the burning pines?

In a forest black'r than ever I knew

When a lifetime past seems the morning dew

Will you sing with me

Of the graves behind?

Will you dance with me

As we wait to die?more
