About the artist:
Mohammed Abdelkazeem arrived in Hamburg, Germany as a refugee in 1992. Soon he got absorbed by early MS-Dos computer games and underground tracker music in the vicinity of the burgeoning Chaos Computer Club. After dropping out of school, he studied music and sound design as an autodidact, becoming a celebrated wunderkind as a sound engineer in the German extreme metal scene of the late 1990s.
2022, while recovering from a severe bout of depression induced by a long phase of unemployment, Mohammed started his first solo project under the name Ziggurath. Tales from Southern Realms is a journey into the raw and nostalgic sound of MIDI-instruments with a dash of orientalism.
